'Growing Durham' Official Plan OKed
at Regional Council
The controversial Growing Durham Official Plan
was approved at the June 3rd Regional Council
meeting.
Opponents of the Plan have claimed it violates
the Provincial
Growth Plan which aims to curtail urban sprawl, protect farmland
and create more sustainable and transit supportive
communities. Ajax Council are concerned that Growing
Durham does not conform to Provincial legislation or achieve the
documents goals. See Regional

Citizens
concerned with the Regional move should make their views known
to their Provincial MPPs.
Incinerator
Proposal Airing at Regional Council Wednesday, June 24
The health and environmental site specific assessments will be
presented to Committee of the Whole, Durham Region, June 16th
at 9:30 a.m. The incinerator debate will be on
June 24th at 10:00 a.m. at Regional council.
