Town launches e-mail service to keep community connected

Ajax residents and businesses are encouraged to sign-up for the Town’s new e-newsletter, which will be issued twice monthly, to receive news and updates from the Town’s Web site.

The first issue of Ajax E-News (sent on April 3, 2009) provided a number of highlights, including Council’s approval of a new ward system, endorsement of a staff report recommending changes to the Region's final Growing Durham scenario, Mayor Parish’s presentation of the Town’s progressive trail system at the Parks and Recreation Ontario Conference on March 31, Ajax Town Hall receiving the Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade's prestigious "Certificate of Achievement" award, and the approval of the site plan for the new LEED designed Operations Centre among others.

“The Town is committed to keeping its residents and businesses informed and engaged on municipal projects, special events and general interest topics,” said Christie McLardie, Manager of Communications. “The new service enables us to stay connected with our residents and businesses in a timely manner, provide a platform for feedback, and build strong, lasting relationships.”

The new service enables users to receive updates in 12 categories, some of which include the Town’s waterfront, trails and parks, corporate and environmental initiatives, business development, Recreation & Culture, and special events.
