Colleen took part in a mock Olympic Relay with other Ajax residents on Dec. 5th 2009 to stimulate interest in the Olympic Torch arrival in Ajax on Dec. 17th.  The event also was an opportunity to promote the benefits of a healthy, active lifestyle.  A number of community clubs showcasing boxing as well as fencing etc. were also present to demonstrate their sports. 

Shown in the photograph are other Ajax residents who participated in the relay.  Residents were required to submit an essay or short video stating how the Olympics provided inspiration for them to lead an active lifestyle. 

Colleen is shown with Jeremy Booker, Ajax resident and Paralympian, who won a gold medal in sledge hockey during the Torino Olympics, in 2006.
Jeremy was on hand to discuss his experience as well as allow people to view and hold his Olympic gold medal.
