| Colleen is a proven, experienced
municipal leader.
Colleen was elected Regional Councillor for Ajax Wards 3
& 4 in 2003 and re-elected in 2006 with the largest
percentage of votes for any Council member. She also sits on local Council.
From 1997 and 2000, Jordan served as local Ward 3
Councillor in Ajax. Colleen was a trustee with Durham's
public school board between 1991 and 1997.
Until her election, she was the successful Executive
Director of the Community Development Council of Durham (formerly Social Development Council of
Ajax-Pickering), an important non profit social service agency
which lends support to immigrant settlement, child nutrition,
affordable housing and other agencies throughout Durham
Region.
Colleen holds a Bachelor of Arts (Sociology major) from the
University of Toronto.
Her private business experience includes a
position as a
Research Officer and Foreign Exchange Trader with the
International Banking Centre of the Royal Bank in Montreal and
Toronto.
Jordan’s four children, Tracy, Bobby, Jenny and
Jackie were all raised in Ajax and graduated from Ajax
schools. They are now all employed after graduating from
Durham College, UOIT, U of T and Carleton University. Colleen
enjoys spending her free time with her five grandchildren.
