Headwaters of Carruthers -North East Pickering issue

• TRCA June 4 motion was presented by me to TRCA Executive.  Motion was
  referred back to staff for further report. TRCA voted to reiterate
  their concerns regarding any development in the headwaters of Carruthers
  Creek to the Region for consideration at the June 8th Planning Committee
  meeting and June 23rd Regional Council meeting.  see Colleen's TRCA motion

• Motion_June 14_NE Pickering development.html . Endorsed unanimously by Ajax Council

• Motion before Regional Council June 23, 2010 to delete headwaters of Carruthers lands from the urban area and study the area further. Motion defeated.  Region voted to designate the lands for development in the Regional Official Plan.  They also voted to authorize the Planning Commissioner to appeal any decision by the Province which did not meet Regional Council vision for growth. Action taken disregarding the Conservation concerns, Durham Environmental Advisory Committee concerns, Durham Food Policy Council and numerous resident delegations.
